We are always looking for excellent people. As our name reflects, we run a studio environment in which employees from interns to principles are involved in all stages of a project. We steadily support continuing education especially concerning design. We have sponsored series of classes produced by the Institute for Classical Architecture & Classic America (ICA&CA) including a series on the classical orders taught by Al Holm, as well as courses on Classical Interiors taught by Steve Semes and a session on the Classical Kitchen taught by Martin Brandwien. We have sent many of our employees through the Professional Certificate Program with the ICA&CA in New York and currently two of our employees are pursuing certification as Kitchen and Bath specialists.
We encourage our Employees to be active in the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classic America (ICA&CA), American Institute of Building Design (AIBD), the Congress for New Urbanism (CNU) and many others.
We strive to cultivate a team environment by holding weekly staff meetings where updates and status reports are given. Additionally, our firm participates in monthly team building lunches and outings on Friday afternoons. These outings, chosen by staff members through a hat draw, have spanned from architecturally-oriented tours of historic homes to bowling and go-cart racing.
While a smaller firm, we are able to provide the social opportunities of a large firm by sharing office space with four other design firms. Twice a year, all five firms come together for a summer outing which is typically family-oriented, and again for an annual Christmas party. We also join these firms in providing benefit packages such as insurance and 401(k) programs which are competitive with larger firms.
